ElectionsJust a reminder that you have until Thursday, May 8th at 4 pm to file A.S. Complaint forms.
The following links are to inform the campus community of the A.S., RHA, and university campaigning regulations. Below we have provided the links to these important rules and regulations:

If you have any complaints, please fill out the PDF at the A.S. Election Supplement webpage:
Complaint Form: www.as.ucsb.edu/election
Pick up hardcopies at the A.S. Main Office UCen 1523 or
the RHA Office located in the San Nicolas Residence Hall Lobby. Return complaint forms to the CAB office located at UCen 2523.

By the Friday of the 6th week of Spring Quarter (May 9th), the Election Committee will review the complaint forms
and forward to the A.S. Attorney General and the Chair of Judicial Council, decisions regarding fines and penalties.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Robert L. Lorden Award for Outstanding Leadership In Service to Associated Students

The Lorden Award is established in order to honor a UCSB undergraduate student each academic year who has performed outstanding service to the Associated Students through her or his leadership for the organization. This leadership service is exemplified by a dedicated and consistent involvement in the Associated Students, and is marked by integrity, honesty, and a commitment to the ideals of the Associated Students. These ideals include protecting student rights, creating an open and positive campus atmosphere, increasing student participation in programs and projects, and uniting students to make a difference on the campus.
Nomination forms are due in the Associated Students Administration office by 5:00pm on May 2, 2008. The recipient will be honored at the annual year-end Associated Students Banquet on May 27, 2008. Forms are available online (see below) or in the A.S. Main Office, the Office of Student Life, Office of Residential Life, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

SANTA BARBARA – KCSB-FM, La Casa de la Raza, and The Scimitar Cooperative present performances by The World/Inferno Friendship Society, Ollin, Oso, and the Radical Women's Performance Troupe, on Wednesday, March 5th, 7:30pm, at La Casa de la Raza. This all-ages event will also feature an open house hosted by La Casa's Bici Centro bike collective, outreach by area organizations, and a live concert broadcast on KCSB 91.9 FM.

Associated Students is the student government and the official student voice on campus. Executive Officers and Representatives are elected each spring to Legislative Council. Legislative Council is responsible for expressing student opinion to the UCSB and University of California system-wide administrations and maintains the policies, revenues, and conduct of Associated Students.

Declaration of Candidacy Forms are available in the AS Main Office, UCen 1523!

Forms are due in the AS Community Affairs Board Office, UCen 2523, above the MCC on March 6th by 4 pm.

The Declaration of Candidacy Meeting will be on March 7th at 4 pm, UCEN State Street Room.

Shoreline Preservation FundAPPLY FOR FUNDING THROUGH UCSB COASTAL FUND!

The Associated Students Coastal Fund (formally known as Shoreline Preservation Fund) is currently accepting applications for funding.

Funds can be requested for community and campus programs, individual class projects, undergraduate and graduate research, or for fundraising activities for student organizations. Proposals are accepted at the beginning of each quarter and must advance the SPF Mission to be eligible. There is no due date for proposals under $1,000.00.

The AS COASTAL FUND, a student-initiated and student-directed funding entity, provides support to enhance, protect, and restore the shoreline associated with UCSB through preservation, education, open access, research, and restoration.

Community Affairs BoardIn the Spirit of Service, On August 17th the AS Community Affairs Board launched it’s new and improved website thanks to funding from the Student Initiative. AS/CAB revamped its webpage to make it easier for community members and students to use and access information on getting involved with community service. This year’s theme in the Spirit of Service launches the board into its 52nd year of service to the community, as the largest and oldest student run and funded program in the country.
